The maximum frequency of the clock signal that can be used with TPIC6C595D is 30 MHz. However, it's recommended to use a clock frequency of 10 MHz or less to ensure reliable operation.
During power-up, the shift register is in an unknown state. To ensure a known state, it's recommended to perform a reset by pulling the RCLR pin low for at least 100 ns. This will clear the shift register and set the output latch to a known state.
Each output pin of the TPIC6C595D can source up to 100 mA and sink up to 150 mA. However, the total current sourced or sunk by all output pins should not exceed 500 mA.
To prevent damage due to back-EMF, it's recommended to use a flyback diode (also known as a freewheeling diode) in parallel with the inductive load. This diode will absorb the back-EMF voltage and prevent it from damaging the output pins.
The recommended operating voltage range for the TPIC6C595D is 4.5 V to 5.5 V. Operating the device outside this range may affect its performance and reliability.
