Expandable
4555B 4556B constructed with complementary (CMOS) enhancement-mode devices. Each decoder/demultiplexer Select inputs active-low Enable input (E), four mutually-exclusive outputs (QO, 03). 4555B selected output "high" state, 4556B selected output "low" state. Expanded decoding such binary-to-hexadecimal (1-of-16), etc., achieved using other 4555B 4556B devices.
Applications include code conversion, address decoding, memory selection control, demultiplexing (using Enable input data input) digital data transmission systems.
