Product Brief 3-TERMINAL POSITIVE LINEAR REGULATOR Description
AZ78LXX series three terminal positive regulators with several fixed output voltages. These regulators provide local card regulation, eliminating distribution problems associated with single point regulation. AZ78LXX used logic systems, instrumentation, HiFi, other solid state electronic equipment. When used Zener diode/resistor combination replacement, AZ78LXX usually results effective output impedance improvement orders magnitude, lower quiescent current. With adequate heat sinking AZ78LXX deliver output current. Current limiting included limit peak output current safe value. Thermal protection also provided. internal power dissipation becomes high heat sinking provided, thermal shutdown circuit takes over preventing from overheating. AZ78LXX available plastic TO-92 (bulk ammo packing), SOIC-8, SOT-223 SOT-89-3 packages.
