Identifying Remote Terminal Address Using "Built Self Test"
Some system environments require that applications 1553 Modules Remote Terminal Address (RTA) identified when system initialized. CT2577/9 series perform this function utilizing devices internal Self test capabilities. This affords high degree functional coverage along with, when required, identifying RTA.
BASICS CT2577/79 SELF TEST FUNCTION
Self test feature internal (off-line) external (on-line) loop back test additional verification functionality. This addition Remote Terminals internal Wraparound circuitry. difference being that this test manual under subsystem control. subsystem microprocessor selects either off-line on-line mode, initializes Self test data then initiates Self test. After Self test completed subsystem then reads back wrapped data word determines correct. on-line Self test must done with 1553 data quiet. more detailed description CT2577/79 Built Self test please refer application note #110, Using CT2577/79 Built Self Test.

PERFORMING SELF TEST
Self test function enabled disabled writing specific address locations (data don't care). Reset (pulsing NRES) will disable Self test. Addresses shown operation Address 406h 407h 408h Function Enable off-line Self test device status Enable on-line Self test device status Disable Self test
When mode used (NBIT16=1) upper lower bytes selected (0=lower byte) must asserted along with address highway. through contain data, through used. recommended that user always word width operations accessing upper byte then lower byte operations.
