Diffuse-reflection proximity switch
With this type device, emitter receiver form part same unit. optical beams either parallel slightly converging. presence object optical field causes diffused reflection luminous beam. receiver detects reflection from object itself. reflective properties object important. generally possible reliably detect presence object unless perfectly reflective black. Polarized retro-reflective photoelectric switch
