Expert Fiber-Optic Sensor
Expert Description
Expert Sensor high-performance plastic fiber-optic sensor whose many configuration (TEACH-mode) options make suitable demanding applications. Even with features, extremely easy use. Advanced 16-bit microcontroller technology makes this possible. Expert provides high-performance sensing low-contrast applications, with Expert TEACH setup with static, dynamic single-point programming plus manual fine adjustment, remote programming lockout. slender, stylized housing large digital display visible beneath clear cover easy programming status monitoring during operation. sensor mounts directly standard rail using supplied mounting bracket. (Mount protected area free from excess vibration wash-down.) sensor features outputs with independent set-points: analog choices, depending model, discrete (NPN PNP, also depending model). Built-in crosstalk avoidance protocol provides trouble-free operation multiple sensors area.

Output configured either analog output, depending model. sensor programmed using two-point TEACH (either static dynamic) single-point static teach. Teaching set-points (static dynamic): sensor sets first taught condition highest output level (either 10V), second taught condition lowest level (either 0V), scales between these points. first condition taught more returned light, sensor will Light Operate mode (LO). first taught condition darker, sensor will Dark Operate mode (DO). change slope analog output (refer Figure toggle LO/DO Setup (page Single-point (static) Teach: sensor sets taught condition mid-point range depending model). Light Operate mode, sensor will automatically scale 10V) maximum light condition (the maximum possible received signal) down maximum dark condition signal), vice-versa Dark Operate mode. change slope analog output (refer Figure toggle LO/DO Setup (page OFF-delay enabled analog output acts averaging function. During OFF-delay period, sensor will take multiple analog readings average result before changing analog value. This acts reduce effects major spikes analog system, effect "smoothing" output reading. Dynamic TEACH Adaptive Thresholds
Dynamic TEACH used program sensitivity during actual machine conditions. During Dynamic TEACH, takes multiple samples light dark conditions automatically sets sensitivity optimum level. discrete output, Dynamic TEACH activates sensor's adaptive threshold system, which continuously tracks minimum maximum signal levels, automatically maintains centering switch point between light dark conditions. adaptive threshold system remains effect during mode automatically adjust changes light dark conditions. adaptive routine saves nonvolatile memory least once hour. When Dynamic TEACH mode used program sensitivity, output state (light dark operate) will remain last programmed. change either light dark operate, SETUP mode (see page Sensitivity adjusted time when sensor mode clicking buttons. However, when manual adjustment made, adaptive threshold system disabled (cancelled).

unlikely event that setup parameters lost become corrupt, display will continuously scroll: Error." Reteach sensor recover. problem persists, contact your Banner representative further information.
Gate Input
D10's pink wire configured gate input. When this wire pulled (i.e., sensor ground), inhibits discrete output from switching, while other functions continue enabled. This feature useful controlling when outputs allowed change states. Gate input function response time millisecond. While gate enabled, analog output holds last value.
