Evaluation Board Overview
Intended uses
primary Bluetooth Evaluation Board allow evaluation FlexiPanel Ltd's Bluetooth products easily possible. designed allow developer follow tutorials examples product data sheets. Additionally, evaluation board used during development reliable, tested environment while troubleshooting.
memory
24C256 serial memory conditionally connected, according configuration pins, pins Toothpick. Pull-up resistors included. address pins held low, Toothpick mStr value access memory 0x10.
ICD2 programming connector
RJ11 programming connector allows program ToothPIC directly using Microchip MPLAB ICD2. Since NMCLR, INT0 INT1 lines must isolated, BASIC Stamp should installed same time IDC2 connected.
Power Supply
evaluation board powered reasonable smooth unregulated power source 2.5mm center-positive connector. heat sink provided voltage regulator, expect quite warm.
Jumper connections
Jumper connections allow evaluation board dynamically reconfigured detailed General Setup sections. printed next each jumper connection strip. columns denoted letters, rows numbers. Note that links might need inserted either horizontal vertical positions.
Switches, LEDs Presets
following peripheral permanently connected: components
LEDs Toothpick pins AN9, AN10, AN11, CCP1 SDO. Presets that vary voltage Toothpick pins AN0, AN1, smoothly between Pushbuttons control voltages Toothpick pins AN4, AN5, AN7. when pressed otherwise. binary encoding rotary switch CCP5. binary encoding rotary switch unconnected. Power LED. connected Status LinkMatik BlueMatik. following peripheral components conditionally connected according configuration pins detailed General Setup sections: LEDs Toothpick pins CCP2, CCP3, SDA, SCL, binary encoding rotary switch CCP4. binary encoding rotary switch RxD.

Switches
switches LinkMatik Connect Sleep between Sleep state state. used switch LinkMatik Master Slave Mode between Master Slave modes, switch BlueMatik between Command Data modes. Note that whether this switch effect depends jumper settings, since these modes alternately driven state RS232 line.
RS232 driver Serial Port
serial port used Toothpick, LinkMatik, BlueMatik BASIC Stamp according configuration.
Module Sockets
Only insert BlueMatik, LinkMatik Toothpick time. Only insert BASIC Stamp when used with Toothpick Stamp Edition.

*Note: version board (TPDr5 omitted rearside labels. decide whether input controlled switch line RS232 port. control from switch SW6, insert link over following configuration pin: (SW6 input)
LinkMatik configured that input controlled Connect Sleep line controlled SW7. Apply power into position. Then into position. Status should flash indicate that entered Slave mode waiting device connect LinkMatik working, HyperTerminal sessions much started will connected RS232 port, other Bluetooth. What type into console will appear other. First connect socket your PC's serial port. Start HyperTerminal session 9600 baud, hardware flow control, bits parity, stop bit. Second, Bluetooth Manager your discover LinkMatik. will need pair with since security enabled. code four zeroes `0000'. Connect LinkMatik observe that Status glows steadily connection complete. Start another HyperTerminal session, using port number assigned Bluetooth Manager when made connection. baud settings ignored, enter anything like them. should find that anything type HyperTerminal window appears other HyperTerminal window.

Configuration Mode
Important: have previously Slave Mode evaluation, sure close HyperTerminal windows they will otherwise `hog' ports prevent correct Bluetooth communication. evaluate LinkMatik configuration mode, switch Sleep position, remove existing links then connect links follows: A10- (RS232 pin) (RS232 pin) (RS232 pin) (RS232 pin) (RS232 pin) (RS232 pin) (SW6 input) (4k7 pull-down pin) (4k7 pull-down pin)
Master Mode
evaluate LinkMatik master mode, first complete configuration mode evaluation since this configure LinkMatik connect your with switch Sleep position, remove existing links then connect links slave mode evaluation: A10- (RS232 pin) (RS232 pin) (RS232 pin) (RS232 pin) (RS232 pin) (RS232 pin) (SW6 input) (RS232 pin) (RS232 pin)
LinkMatik configured that input controlled Connect Sleep line controlled SW7. Apply power into Mstr position. Then into position. Status should flash indicate that entered Master mode looking connect your After seconds should discover your will automatically connect Depending whether previous pairings have been remembered not, necessary enter code 0000 again. wish verify that connection working, start HyperTerminal sessions Slave Mode evaluation. What type into console will appear other.
Apply power into position. Status should flash rapidly, indicating that configuration mode. Bluetooth Manager your discover LinkMatik connect your computer requires code four zeroes 0000. Also Bluetooth Manager, make note your PC's Bluetooth device name. Start LinkMatik configuration tool enter first characters PC's Bluetooth device name Pair Match Prefix. example, used write this documentation name FlexiPanel Vaio Laptop, FlexiPanel entered Pair Match Prefix. This being done that next section, where master mode evaluated, LinkMatik will search connect Press Program LinkMatik button write settings LinkMatik. will extinguish second then glow steadily indicating configuration complete. first time power after programming,

Example commands
following examples exhaustive. Refer product documentation full list commands. Apply power following greetings message similar following will appear: +BINF:830,2,C7,1D4140,Anonymous READY wait seconds before typing anything, following message will also appear: +BURT:1D8,0,0 This simply indicates that baud rate reverted 115200 baud (which anyway), since input been received first seconds. Note extinguishes while response being send. This differentiate between response from BlueMatik data from Bluetooth connection. discover Bluetooth devices range, type following command: +BURT:1D8,0,0 This starts second scan devices. Each device found will result message similar following: following message indicates that scan complete: +BINC:1 BlueMatik into encrypted slave mode that other devices connect securely, type following commands: AT+BRSR=1,0 AT+BWLP=7 AT+BSEC=2 AT+BSLV

Then Bluetooth Manager your discover BlueMatik. When have discovered select Bluetooth Manager pair with using code 0000 (four zeroes). message similar following will appear: +BLNK:800,46,B939B0 indicate that have link yet, should respond typing: AT+BLNK= will then receive message: +BPIN:800,46,B939B0 then pair with code typing: AT+BPIN=0000 When pairing complete, will receive message similar following: +BPRC:800,46,B939B0,9538CD9793. final 32-digit number link key, which could future connect securely without specifying code. that devices paired, Bluetooth Manager your connect BlueMatik. following message will appear: +BMSC:B,0 +BRFC:800,46,B939B0,0,0,0 +BMSC:3,3B These indicate that device connected. Start another HyperTerminal session, using port number assigned Bluetooth Manager when made connection. baud settings ignored, enter anything like them. send data first HyperTerminal, type into second console (the just created) observe that text appears first console also. light does extinguish, indicating that text data rather than command response from BlueMatik. send data from first HyperTerminal, switch Data position that BlueMatik knows
