XE1205 user-programmable between modes operation: Continuous Mode: each transmitted received accessed directly DATA input/output pin. Buffered Mode: 16-byte FIFO used store each data byte transmitted received. Serial Control Interface
XE1205 contains SPI-compatible serial interfaces, send read chip configuration, other send receive data buffered mode. Both interfaces configured slave mode share same pins MISO (Master Slave Out), MOSI (Master Slave In), (Serial Clock). additional pins required select interface: NSS_CONFIG change read transceiver configuration, NSS_DATA send read data. Figure show connections between transceiver microcontroller when buffered mode used.
