General Description
MAX9617/MAX9618 low-power, zero-drift operational amplifiers, designed portable consumer, medical, industrial applications. MAX9617/MAX9618 feature rail-to-rail CMOS inputs outputs, 1.5MHz just 59FA supply current 10FV (max) zero-drift input offset voltage over time temperature. zero-drift feature MAX9617/ MAX9618 reduces high noise typically found CMOS input operational amplifiers, making useful wide variety low-frequency measurement applications. Detailed Description
MAX9617 (single) MAX9618 (dual) precision, low-power amps ideal signal processing applications. These devices innovative autozero technique that allows precision noise with minimum amount power. input offset voltage, CMOS inputs, absence noise allows optimization active filter designs. MAX9617/MAX9618 achieve rail-to-rail performance input through low-noise charge pump. This ensures glitch-free, common-mode input voltage range extending from negative supply rail positive supply rail, eliminating crossover distortion common traditional n-channel/p-channel CMOS pair inputs, reducing harmonic distortion output. MAX9617/MAX9618 feature autozero circuit that allows device achieve less than 10FV (max) input offset voltage eliminates noise.
Applications Information
MAX9617/MAX9618 low-power, low-noise, precision operational amplifiers designed applications portable medical, such pulse oximetry, portable consumer, industrial markets. MAX9617/MAX9618 also ideal loop-powered systems that interface with pressure sensors strain gauges. Driving large capacitive loads cause instability many amps. MAX9617/MAX9618 stable with capacitive loads 400pF. Stability with higher capacitive loads improved adding isolation resistor series with op-amp output. This resistor improves circuit's phase margin isolating load capacitor from amplifier's output. graph Typical Operating Characteristics gives stable operation region capacitive load versus isolation resistors. MAX9617/MAX9618 operate either with single supply from +1.6V +5.5V with respect ground with dual supplies from Q0.8V Q2.75V. When used with dual supplies, bypass both supplies with their 0.1FF capacitor ground. When used with single supply, bypass with 0.1FF capacitor ground. Careful layout technique helps optimize performance decreasing amount stray capacitance amp's inputs outputs. decrease stray capacitance, minimize trace lengths placing external components close amp's pins.
Capacitive-Load Stability
Autozero
internal charge pump provides internal supply typically beyond upper rail. This internal rail allows MAX9617/MAX9618 achieve true rail-to-rail inputs outputs, while providing excellent common-mode rejection, power-supply rejection ratios, gain linearity. charge pump requires external components, most applications entirely transparent user. operating frequency well beyond unity-gain frequency amplifier, avoiding aliasing other signal integrity issues sensitive applications.
