Description
Communication TLE8110EE 10-channel low-side switch PG-DSO-36-41 package providing embedded protective functions. serial peripheral interface (SPI) utilized control diagnosis device loads. interface provides daisy-chain capability order assemble multiple devices chain using same number micro-controller pins. analogue digital part device supplied Logic Input Output Signals then compatible logic level [TTL level]. Optionally, logic part supplied with lower voltages achieve signal compatibility with e.g. 3.3V logic level [CMOS level]. TLE8110EE equipped with parallel input pins that routed each output channel. This allows control channels loads driven Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). output channels also controlled SPI. Reset device equipped with Reset Enable. Reset [RST] serves whole device, Enable [EN] serves only Output Control Unit Power Stages. Diagnosis device provides diagnosis load, including open load, short well short circuit VBatt detection over-load over-temperature indication. diagnosis flags indicates latched fault conditions have occurred. Protection Functions
device provides embedded protective functions. Integrated protection functions designed prevent destruction under fault conditions described this Document. Fault conditions considered "outside" normal operating range. Protection functions designed continuous repetitive operation. There over load over temperature protection implemented TLE8110EE. protection function becomes active during write cycle Diagnosis Information into Diagnosis Register, information latched stored into diagnosis register after write process. order achieve maximum protection, affected channel with over current over temperature switched off. device configured serial communication interface three ways order react this fault condition: after switching off, turning again after delay time: case over temperature, when temperature decreased below temperature shut down threshold. case over-current, affected channel turning after delay time until over temperature protection activated. after switching off, turning again affected channel with next parallel serial control command. Default Setting: after switching latching condition remain until Diagnosis Register cleared serial control. this case, internal Diagnosis Bits Over Temperature Over Current cleared with rising edge S_CS
failure condition Reverse Currents, device contains "Reverse Current Protection Comparator" [RCP]. This optionally activated setting DEVS.RCP Bit. case comparator activated, detects reverse current switches related output channel. channel kept reverse current channel dependent threshold IRCP_off. This threshold defined regulators target value keep output voltage >/~-0.3V. current exceeds defined value, comparator switches other protection functions protecting circuit against reverse current. That means that higher currents case de-activated activated, reverse current flowing through body diode DMOS. that case, voltage drops typically -0.6V according voltage body diode. case comparator threshold been exceeded been switched OFF, functions remains until reverse current arrives back zero reverse current. Only then, comparator activated again after delay time tRCP_on_delay. This function reduces un-wanted influence reverse current analogue part circuit (such diagnosis). more details about functionality, Figure Figure concerning settings related registers, refer Chapter "Control Device". Register Command Overview
This Chapter describes Registers Commands. commands allow carry through some actions, such reading clearing diagnosis reading Input Pins. Specially highlighted here should encoded CMD_DMSx/OPSx commands compactCONTROL highly efficient command-set part output pins read diagnosis same time. Included this command possibility check, communication works well also possibility read-out some parallel Input Pins INx. Using this compact command reduce workload micro-controller during run-time significantly. CMD_RSD preformed short diagnostics [SD] returned after each Write Cycle writable registers. After start-up device, registers loaded with default settings described below register descriptions. Registers cleared back default values, when signal applied under-voltage condition appears supply what causes under-voltage reset. signal applied under-voltage condition appears VDD, Registers cleared.
