Digital Interface Board operated either modes: Computer mode Manual mode. Computer mode, evaluation converters simplified connecting product evaluation board given converter Digital Interface Board, which connected personal computer through serial communication port. Digital Interface Board used with Windows-based WaveVision software, which operates under Microsoft Windows later. digitized signal captured displayed Computer monitor dynamic waveform. 7.2.1 Dynamic Performance Estimates dynamic performance indicated SINAD, SNR, SFDR estimates rather than hard fast figures because their accuracy depends upon much ADC's dynamic input range used, many samples taken. example, input reduced below full scale swing such that maximum minimum codes obtained output are, 8-bit ADC, rather than full scale values only about code range used. result apparent degradation SNR. other hand, input exceeds input dynamic range such that and/or bottom input signal clipped ADC's output, THD, SFDR SINAD will degraded. Apparent performance also limited purity input signal used. Some finest signal generators available clean enough really show performance possibility given ADC. 7.2.2 Bandwidth Estimation constant amplitude frequency sweep applied Analog Input product evaluation board signal input digitized displayed, data display will show frequency dependent amplitude variation. Histogram histogram captured data obtained clicking histogram icon (see appendix), pressing CTRL-H, pressing ALT-P, histogram indicates number times each code occurs data. histogram could misleading there enough samples taken. this reason suggest that take maximum available number samples before evaluating histogram. right histogram will standard deviation data, number missing codes (zeros) data, well code with most number hits (occurrences) many hits that more than code this maximum number hits, lowest code with that maximum number hits indicated. Figure histogram simulated data that would result when trying acquire data system could detect board connected computer. "MAX 1:29" right means that maximum number codes lowest code with that number code
