Thyristors Thyristor semiconductor switch with bi-stable action depending p-n-p-n regenerative feedback. Thyristors normally two- three-terminal devices either unidirectional bi-directional circuit configurations. Thyristors have many forms, they have certain commonalities. Thyristors solid state switches that normally open circuits (very high impedance), capable withstanding rated blocking/off-state voltage until triggered state. When triggered state, Thyristors become low-impedance current path until principle current either stops drops below minimum holding level.
