DESCRIPTION
Symbol (MB3842) 1/10 (MB3845) Descriptions Control signal input pin. turn switch turn toff. less, chip STBY state current consumption less than 1µA. level 1.4V (typ), level 1.6V (typ), with 200mV (typ) hysteresis. Control signal input pin. turn switch turn off. level VIN, chip STBY state current consumption less than 1µA. Normally used CMOS inverter input, that recommended level +0.5V less, level -0.5V greater. Slow start setting pin. Used adjust switch on/off timing. external capacitance delay operation. Leave open when use. open mode voltages present. Care should taken mounting prevent leakage current generation because high impedance required. Current limit setting pin. limit current level connecting this external resistance. Switch output pin. UVLO (VIN power monitor function) provided that when reaches 2.3V (typ.) higher voltage goes level. Also voltage drops (typ.) lower output goes state. 200mV (typ) hysteresis provided. Ground pin. External notification pin. When switch mode this normally outputs level signal, changes level when overcurrent, overtemperature, UVLO condition detected. This open drain connection, should pulled high potential using resistance. Switching output pin.(N-ch MOSFET source)

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Current Limit Setting
placing resistance between pins, current limit between 100mA 600mA within ±30% accuracy (VIN current limit 600mA). Because setting value dependent voltage, user should select optimum resistance value value voltage When switching current exceeds value, goes level external notification signal, there latching function. hold operation "off" state, input signal pins should used. When direct connection used, there current limitation. When connection open, switch state continuously held current limits.
Thermal Shutdown
MB3842/MB3845 thermal shutdown function which turns switch sets latch protect device when junction temperature exceeds 125°C. same time output signal goes level notify external systems. latch function reset sending signal input MB3842, high signal input MB3845.
Slow Start
on/off switching time delayed applying capacitance between pins. Controlling time soften surge current load side capacitance when power turned details, "Css (SS) characteristics"
UVLO
voltage monitoring function provided, that when voltage exceeds (typ) voltage goes level. When voltage falls below 2.1V (typ), output goes state.
Error Flag
produces signal case UVLO, overcurrent, over-temperature condition. case overcurrent, output pulse waveform. P12. (note) Output current limit setting resistance values shown following table. pin-to-GND)

USAGE PRECAUTION
Never settings exceeding maximum rated conditions.
Exceeding maximum rated conditions cause permanent damage LSI. Also, recommended that recommended operating conditions observed normal use. Exceeding recommended operating conditions adversely affect reliability.
this device within recommended operating conditions.
Recommended operating conditions values within which normal operation warranted. Standard electrical characteristics warranted within range recommended operating conditions within listed conditions each parameter.
Printed circuit board ground lines should with consideration common impedance. Take appropriate static electricity measures.
Containers semiconductor materials should have anti-static protection made conductive material. After mounting, printed circuit boards should stored shipped conductive bags containers. Work platforms, tools, instruments should properly grounded. Working personnel should grounded with resistance between body ground.
apply negative voltages.
negative voltages below -0.3 create parasitic transistors lines, which cause abnormal operation.
Reverse Current Prevention Function
Current cannot flow back with switch off, even when voltage higher than (OUT VIN), however when voltage lower than circuit functions lost, that this case there danger reverse current flow. applications which reverse flow acceptable,
