FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION L4954 includes monitoring circuit warn microprocessor voltage voltage condition occurring. When voltage STCAP drops below 7.5V (typ), output will low. This tells microprocessor stop executing code save vital information. reset output will when REG4 (5V-STBY) drops below (VREG4 250mV) 4.75V minimum value. RESET output doesn't above 0.4V until REG4 gone back above 4.75V (min). spike will tell microprocessor start operating. Once STCAP line passes 7.5V (typ), LVWarn output will also return high state. STCAP acts like delay circuit. large capacitor (470µF), STCAP alTIMING DIAGRAM

lows battery voltage decay slowly giving microprocessor time store data. Also, during short voltage negative voltage conditions, STCAP protects STBY output from dropping below RESET trip points. four outputs expected follow battery voltage down REG1, REG2, REG3 REG4. L4954 STBY mode keep microprocessor memories alive during ignition conditions. input controlled microprocessor. high input turns REG1, REG2, REG3, HSD1. places part stand-by mode with REG4 High side driver outputs HSD2 HSD3 controlled respectively: control input turns corresponding high side driver off.
