APPLICATION NOTES:
Fault level must suitable safely open resistor quickly, especially surface mount models. insufficent, resistor reach elevated temp. this reason, fusing overload must relatively large compared rated common most axial-lead applications, 100x most circuits. fusing times vary mounting geometry/materials, each application needs evaluated user. fault condition must least equal minimum indicated each above curves, preferably double applications. Fusing still occur levels below levels graphed above consistently (fast-blow models available). Don't exceed volt rating 200x rating, whichever less (increased levels available). customized models, complete RCD's Fuse Questionnaire advise desired fusing wattage current, min.& max. blow time, continuous wattage, ambient temp., pulse conditions, physical constraints, voltage interrupted, frequency, etc. Maintain clearance from heat-sensitive flammable materials. Fusing times vary depending resistance value. Typical fusing times given above 3.9K. values tend fuse slower. Consult factory assistance. Residual resis. initial value after fusing rated (30x BW1/8F MBW) Verify selection evaluating under full range fault conditions. Place resistors inside protective case when testing.
