THROUGH-HOLE SOLDERING INFORMATION

Operation
Output Voltage Trim Each WPA60C's output voltages simultaneously adjusted above below nominal point value indicated Product Data Sheet. shown Figure raise converter output voltage resistor must placed between Trim Return pin. Remote ON/OFF Function WPA60C equipped with primary ON/OFF used remotely turn converter system signal. input open-collector and/or open-drain compatible. positive logic model system logic signal will turn unit off. negative logic models system logic high signal will turn converter off. negative logic models where control signal will used ON/OFF should connected directly -Vin ensure proper operation. positive logic models where control signal will used ON/OFF should left open normal operation.

Protective Functions
Temperature Shutdown over temperature shutdown feature WPA60C will cause unit shutdown typical temperature 120oC. This protective feature comprised thermistor unit control loop. temperature 120oC this circuit will cause into idle mode, resulting output from converter preventing damage converter components. When temperature unit drops below 120oC fault condition will clear converter will resume normal operation. cause over temperature condition identified corrected unit will continue cycle off.
Figure Trim Down Circuit resistance value required achieve desired amount positive/negative trim determined referring trim graph each model. trimming desired then Trim should left unconnected.

APPLICATION NOTES
Input Under-Voltage Shutdown nominal input voltage WPA60C 48Vdc. input voltage 32.5Vdc nominal unit will shutdown input under-voltage condition. input voltage less than 32.5V under-voltage sensing circuit will send signal causing into idle mode. This will result output from converter, protecting unit from high input current condition. When input voltage returns level above 32.5V unit will return normal operation. unit will typically turn input voltage 34.5V nominal indicated Product Data Sheet. This hysterisis designed into protective circuit prevent excessive cycling converter. Over-Current Protection protect against fault short-circuit conditions output, each module equipped with current-limiting circuitry designed provide continuous protection. After reaching current limit point (typically above rated output current), voltage will range between rated value zero, depending upon amount overload. unit will remain operation continuously during this period down short-circuit condition. Once short overload been eliminated, output voltage will return normal without cycling input power.
Performance Characterization
Thermal Derating Maximum ouput current ambient temperature various airflow rates been determined each model WPA60C. From these graphs, combination maximum ambient temperature minimum airflow select output current combinations determined. Each model analyzed maximum allowable output power over ambient temperature range 85oC airflows 600LFM. each case maximum allowable power given airflow ambient temperature defined point which known component reaches individual temperature limit. Efficiency Efficiency data each model determined function Load Current Input Voltage. Efficiency Load Current measured ambient temperature 25oC, airflow 300LFM with input voltage 48Vdc. Efficiency Input Voltage measured ambient temperature 25oC, airflow 300LFM rated load. Graphs each model provided their respective section. Start-Up, ON/OFF Transient Response each model, waveforms provided showing output voltage response timing input voltage power up/down, Remote ON/OFF state change load current transient responses. Separate traces provided showing on/off timing sequence outputs relative another. Output voltage transient responses provided step load changes 100% rated load current 100% rated load. Waveforms each model provided their respective section.
Safety WPA60C meets safety requirements 60950 EN60950. Additionally, converter meets CISPR22/ EN55022/ FCC15J Class specs levels with external filtering.
