Detailed Description Introduction
AOZ1360 P-channel high-side load switch with adjustable soft-start slew-rate control, programmable current limit thermal shutdown. operates with input voltage range from 5.5V handle continuous current Enable Enable ON/OFF control output switch. It's active-high input. active after above UVLO threshold Conversely, Enable will de-activated falls below UVLO 2.0V. must driven logic high logic state guarantee operation. While disabled, AOZ1360 only draws about supply current. high impedance input with protection diode ground should forced below ground. This input level compatible with most microcontroller outputs other logic families. Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO) under-voltage lockout (UVLO) circuit AOZ1300 monitors input voltage prevents output MOSFET from turning until exceeds 4.9V.
Adjustable Soft-Start Slew-Rate Control
When asserted high, slew rate control circuitry applies voltage gate PMOS switch manner such that output voltage current ramped linearly until reaches steady-state load current level. slew rate adjusted external capacitor connected ground. slew rate rise time, Ton, using following equation:

Programmable current Limit
current limit programmed external resistor connected ground. This sets reference voltage current limit error amplifier that compares sensed voltage that generated passing small portion load current through internal amplifier. When sensed load current exceeds current limit, load current then clamped limit Vout drops whatever voltage necessary clamp load current. AOZ1360 will stay this condition until load current longer exceeds current limit thermal shutdown protection engaged. current limit below graph

Thermal-Shutdown Protection
During current limit short circuit conditions PMOS resistance increased clamp load current. This increases power dissipation chip causing temperature rise. When temperature reaches 130°C thermal shutdown circuitry will shutdown device. There 30°C hysterisys after which device will turn back thru soft start. thermal shutdown will cycle repeatedly until short circuit condition disappears enable pulled external monitor.

Applications Information Input Capacitor Selection
larger capacitor input bypassing. This will limit input voltage drop during output transient conditions. capacitor should adequate most applications; however, higher capacitor values will further reduce voltage drop. Place bypass capacitor close pins feasibly possible.
Output Capacitor Selection
0.1uF larger capacitor between pins. capacitance does affect turn slew rate; however, larger capacitor will make initial turn transient smoother.
Power Dissipation Calculation
Calculate power dissipation normal load condition using following equation: (IOUT)2 worst case power dissipation occurs when load current hits current limit over-current short circuit faults. power dissipation under these conditions calculated using following equation: (VIN VOUT) ILIMIT
Layout Guidelines
Good layout important improving thermal overall performance AOZ1360. optimize switch response time output short-circuit conditions keep traces short possible reduce effect unwanted parasitic inductance. Place input output bypass capacitors close possible pins. input output traces should wide possible given space. ground plane enhance power dissipation capability device.
