Model 3800 Wide Range Strain Indicator versatile, high-precision laboratory-type instrument designed with strain gages strain gage based transducers. SIGNAL CONDITIONING AMPLIFIERS
When signals produced dynamically applied loads frequencies above 0.1Hz, transients, measuring instrumentation requires adequate frequency response, wide amplifier gain range output appropriate recording display device. Electronically selectable bridge completion resistors allow user choose between 120-, 350-, 1000-ohm strain gages through software selection. While these measurements complete guarantee eventual proper strain gage performance, installation that produces questionable values should relied upon where accuracy results necessary. example, voltage difference between specimen strain gage frequently exists. insulation resistance will permit this voltage differential introduce extraneous signals during strain measurement. Several sources variations insulation resistance shifts gage resistance are: Insulation resistance excess megohms should expected foil strain gages when installed under laboratory conditions. value megohms should considered minimum. reading below this value generally indicates trapped foreign matter, moisture, residual flux backing damage soldering, well incomplete solvent evaporation from overcoating.
