XE900M COMMUNICATIONS CONTROLLER
Hardware: XE900M uses simple micro-controller supervise communications. This micro-controller determines when communications link available, formats data network, manages host system interface. Base Access Network Base Access Network includes remote systems. systems communicate with XE924M Base Access Point using Xecom's XE900M Smart Transceiver. XE900M XE924M communicate over half-duplex channel single, user selected carrier frequency. user selects carrier frequency from available frequencies band. communications controller manages this channel preventing collisions, correcting errors, reversing data direction. Carrier Sense Multiple Access (CSMA) prevent collisions between network nodes XE900M uses Carrier Sense Multiple Access protocol each network transceiver. normal communications nodes network, including XE924M Base Access Point, listen communications activity before initiating session. wireless link already exists between XE924M XE900M equipped nodes, node waits until that session complete before initiating wireless link. Count-off Function count-off function permits Base Access Point quickly check status network nodes. When count-off command, AT#C: AT#C=, broadcast Base Access Point each node responds predetermined time slot. time slot determined address assigned node. node's response count-off command contains user-programmable byte data packet. This data packet programmed with AT#E: AT#E= command. count-off function also initiated from XE900M acting network hub. Data Packets XE900M places data presented system host into packets transmission across wireless link. XE924M also places data coming across telephone line into same type packets. These packets provide addressing error correction wireless communications. communications controllers XE900M XE924M place data packets only wireless link. data extracted from packets before being sent modem system host.

XE900M COMMANDS
XE900M Host Interface XE900M interfaces host system using modem like commands. These commands control configuration XE900M wireless link. Command Line Format Command lines issued XE900M follow strict format. Each command begins with prefix ends with carriage return. XE900M communications controller accepts commands data rates from 1200 115200 BPS. modem uses command prefix automatically determine speed parity incoming characters. Command Prefix Each command, except command, begins with prefix. either both upper case both lower case cannot different cases. prefix identifies parity commands sent XE900M host. speed incoming serial data determined measuring width incoming bytes. Parity determined comparing parity bits characters. Command Line Commands strung together single command line characters. Commands command string executed sequence they appear. Omitted Parameters Most commands include parameter which determines function setting. When command parameter omitted from command string, assumed Result Codes modem normally issues result code after each action. Result codes provided full words, digit numeric codes, disabled together. Each result code ends with carriage return when numeric result codes chosen. When full word result codes chosen, Line Feed Carriage Return precede follow each result code. Disconnect Sequence three character sequence initiates disconnect wireless link. sequence assigned disconnect link.
