DESCRIPTION: CONTROL BYTE DESCRIPTION: HFT012 provides serial interface communicate with external DSP. measurement modes, resolution power down selection configured through serial receiving control from external processor. Receiving effective control activates conversion.
NAME DESCRIPTION Start bit. Control starts with first high DIN. control byte start every cycles 12-bit conversion mode cycles 8-bit conversion mode. Measurement mode selections: [1:1:1]: Reserved [1:1:0]: Plate Resistance [1:0:1]: Position [1:0:0]: Touch Pressure [0:1:1]: Touch Pressure [0:1:0]: Input [0:0:1]: Position [0:0:0]: Reserved [1]: Select 8-bit conversion mode [0]: Select 12-bit conversion mode [1]: Select single ended reference [0]: Select differential reference [1:1]: power down between conversions [1:0]: Reserved [0:1]: Power down between conversions. PENIRQ Disable when power down. [0:0]: Power down between conversions. PENIRQ enable when power down.

Differential Reference
single ended reference, VREF range VDD. There critical issue regarding single ended reference when making measurement where drivers (for example position, x-plate resistance touch pressure measurements). Since plate resistance plate fairly (~500ohms), turn resistance "SWp" "SWn" will make small difference. measurement result will possible achieve zero scale full scale. issue remedied using differential reference mode. (REFP, REFN) connected directly (VX+, VX-) when differential mode. This enables full-scale reference automatically tracking input scale. INTERRUPT: PENIRQL implemented detect touch. connecting 10k~100k ohms pulled resistor VDD, (PD1:PD0)=(0:0) mode, PENIRQL will pulled state when "touch" activated. This signal used trigger external processor start measurement. MEASUREMENT MODES: input configuration drivers listed follow:
