When using GM432 shunt regulator, optimize stability setting either load capacitance across GM432, decouple load; large capacitance across GM432, optional decoupling load. GM432 become unstable with capacitances approximately 10nF when cathode currents less than with instability increasing cathode current reduced. while GM432 happily stable example, cathode current 10mA with 0.1µF capacitor across oscillate transiently cathode current rises through region instability. avoid this problem completely, simply eliminate capacitor select very very high (e.g. 10µF) capacitor Since will probably want local decoupling load, best idea capacitance across device. Just resistance capacitance traces vias will prevent local load decoupling from causing transient oscillation during start-up. place GM432 right next load, with load decoupling capacitor directly across must capacitor $10µF.
