RS-485 Mode There methods that used control RS422/485 driver: handshake control (RTS) send data (SD) control. These methods jumper selectable (JP1 "SD" "RTS"). Handshake control requires that software handshake signal enable/disable RS-485 driver. handshake signal (pin used when master port configured port (pin used when master port configured port. control automatically enables RS-485 driver sensing leading edge first character transmitted from device connected master port. ECHO jumper (JP3) selects RS-485 receiver controlled. ECHO which constantly enables receiver (RS-422, 4-wire mode) ECHO which allows receiver automatically enabled when RS-485 driver disabled (2-wire mode). When ECHO position 2wire mode, data being sent from RS-232 device connected master port will echoed back master port. configure port RS-485 two-wire mode, five jumpers must set. Jumper must placed either "SD" "RTS" position, depending control RS-485 driver. Both jumpers must placed two-wire "2W" position. Jumper must place "OFF" position. Jumper should placed "ON" position this port located either multi-drop line, otherwise should "OFF" position. Refer Figure these jumper locations.
