Module contains debugging, programming control logic. connected PC's serial port 9-pin serial cable Header target using 6-wire modular cable. Header connects Module circuit under test. in-circuit emulation, PIC16F877 needs plugged into header which then plugs into 28-pin 40-pin PIC16F87X socket application. Header powered target application, from volt source. modular cable also plugged into modular connector application in-system programming.

Utilizing chips' In-Circuit Debugging (ICD) capability Microchip's In-Circuit Programming (ICSP) protocol, SICD-87X in-circuit debugger well programmer. runs under MPLAB Integrated Development Environment which provides front programming emulation controls like running, stepping, setting breakpoint, etc.
