Luminescence Detectors
BOS LD20 High Power
Luminescence Detectors
Technical Description The working principle of the LD20 is based on the emission of visible light when luminescent material is struck by ultraviolet light. As the UD light from the LD20 strikes a luminescent object or mark, the ultraviolet light (at a wavelength of 350 nm) is converted onto visible light and the reflection is detected by the receiver of the LD20 through a special filter through which only visible light from 450 to 700 nm wavelength passes. Other objects, even highly reflective items, such as mirrors, glass and chromiumplated surfaces, will not convert the UV light into visible light and are therefore not detected. The LD20 indicator is completely insensitive to reflection from shiny objects and ambient light. The new range of LD20 ultraviolet detectors is specifically designed to detect both visible and invisible luminescent substances, reflected by chalk marks, glue, ink, paint and liquid on all types of material such as wood, metal, ceramic, plastic, and paper. A typical application for the LD20 is the detection of labels and bottles, vials and cans. The LD20 UV reader is easy to mount and install, and its rugged metal housing (IP65) makes it suitable for use in various fields of industrial automation. Features - UV emission - 18mm (0.71 in) and 40 mm (1.6 in) opeerating distance - 500 Hz switching frequency - 1 ms response time - Amphenol connector version: dual output and analog output - M12 connector version: PNP output - Adjustable sensitivity - Red LED output indicator - Green LED exhausted lamp indicator - Metal housing - IP65 - Fiber-optic cables available
