World's Most Versatile Synchronous Buck Converter
Micrel's MIC2182 synchronous buck regulator offers high efficiency dc/dc conversion suitable multitude applications. With n-channel synchronous architecture, MIC2182 capable delivering without need external MOSFET drivers. same time, MIC2182 capable transitioning "skip" mode, needed, improve efficiency lower power levels. MIC2182's synchronous output architecture inherently gives ability source sink load current, lending regulator termination voltage SSTL, HSTL, PECL, GTL+, LV-TTL, LVCMOS, VME, CMOS, Rambusand other interface standards.
Feedback
SSTL, output voltage (VTT) regulator forced track half input voltage (VDDQ). reference internal error amplifier bypassed external error amplifier used. MIC2182 error amplifier transconductance amplifier with high output impedance output current. Because this, input amplifier shorted, forcing output error amplifier high. output external, output impedance, high output current feedback error amplifier then tied directly (comp). reference error amplifier developed resistive divider VDDQ input voltage.
Control
characteristics internal current error amplifier disabled this application. Operation confined voltage mode control internal ramp which already available. current amplifier disabled connecting VOUT together tying them both input voltage.
