XE1283SK SYSTEM COMPONENTS XM1283 connected processor board shown figure below. Note that XE1283SK includes separate, identical, module assemblies. complete assemblies required perform remote two-way communication. This reduces amount equipment required effective testing. Full evaluation mode tests require connection RS232 serial cable inserted into desired board.

DEFAULT PING-PONG TEST
4.4.1 Purpose Ping-Pong Test provides user with means demonstrate practical two-way radio communications between processor boards with XM1283 modules attached. Ping Pong mode valuable test when conducting on-site range tests. Default Ping Pong Test program embedded within XEMICS RISC microcontroller chip (XE88LC06A) integrated transceiver XE1283. second XEMICS RISC microcontroller XE88LC05 placed board transparent application. Ping Pong Test (Default User) automatically started after power attached board's RS232 connector option been disabled from PCGUI Software. addition RESET board will affect parameters default Ping Pong demo.

4.4.3 Default Ping-Pong Test enabling enable default Ping Pong test, user needs click "Default Ping-Pong" button PC-GUI interface before disconnecting RS232 cable from board. 4.4.4 Read back configuration read Default Ping Pong configuration saved Microcontoller memory, user needs click "XE1283 Eval" have access control buttons. Click "Get Config", click "Load Config". Graphic Interface will display Default Ping Pong configuration which been saved into microcontroller (see Figure 4.3).
USER PING-PONG TEST
4.5.1 Purpose "User Ping Pong Test" allows user achieve Ping Pong Test with their settings. User configuration will saved EEPROM, will lost after RESET function. This mode allows user modify parameters XE1283 (Frequency deviation, Local Oscillator Pattern, etc). only restriction data rate, which must lower than 38.4kbps Ping-Pong Test.
4.5.2 User Ping-Pong Test Enabling modify Ping-Pong settings, user needs click "XE1283 Eval" button before starting parameter modifications. next step send configuration microcontroller clicking "Send Config". save this configuration into memory (EEPROM), user needs click "Save Config" button. RESET operation will erase user parameters. start User Ping Pong test, user needs click "User Ping-Pong" button PC-GUI interface before disconnecting RS232 cable from board. three predefined frequencies (f1, also been modified clicking "Ping Pong" tool menu 4.5.3 Read Back Configuration XE1283SK allows user read back latest configuration saved EEPROM. display registers contents, user needs click "XE1283 Eval" have access control buttons. Click "Load Configuration" load latest configuration into XE1283 transceiver followed "Get Config". Graphic Interface will then display latest configuration which been saved into memory.
STAND ALONE EVALUATION
4.6.1 Purpose This operating mode allows user disable Ping-Pong Test. this condition, user will able apply external data Data apply data received Data out, Clock pattern. XE1283 configuration will graphic interface.
4.6.2 Stand Alone Evaluation enabling feature have access this mode user needs click "XE1283 Eval" button placed interface. When bits have been correctly, configuration will microcontroller clicking "Send Config" saved EEPROM clicking "Save Config". user then disconnect board from RS232 cable.

4.7.1 Purpose This mode allows user evaluate XE1283 performances connecting spectrum analyzer generator also defines parameters Ping-Pong Test Stand Alone Evaluation. bits each register accessible, bit, user needs click corresponding LEDs predefined values available from MENU Bar. this mode, board needs connected through serial cable.
4.7.2 PC-GUI Command Enabling have access registers, user needs select "XE1283 Eval" "App State" window from PCGUI screen.

Load Config This operation used load configuration which been saved EEPROM, onto XE1283. user will able read back latest configuration clicking "Get Config".

PING PONG MODE MODIFICATION default Ping Pong mode activated when connected board. user wants alter Ping Pong, each board needs connected temporarily XE1283 Eval Application needs selected. After parameters alteration click command "send configuration". user also change three frequencies used Ping Pong demo. After completion desired settings, user needs select "User Ping Pong" before removing connection board. clicking "OK" frequencies will automatically transferred XE1283, click "Send configuration"

PING PONG MODE MODIFICATION enable Barker Code, XE1283Eval needs enabled also RTParam1, bit6. achieve transmission using Barker code, three pins necessary (DataIn Data DCLK). When using Barker Code transmitter mode, information data stream 1154bps applied through DATA DATAIN according ADParam_disable_data_bidir parameter. DCLK also used transmission mode. DCLK sent user application, rising edge clock data needs sent. When using Barker Coding Decoding process, DCLK used detect when sync acquisition reached when data becomes available.
