DEFAULT PING-PONG TEST
4.4.1 Purpose Ping-Pong Test provides user with means demonstrate practical two-way radio communications between processor boards with XM1205 modules attached. Ping Pong mode valuable test when conducting on-site range tests. Default Ping Pong Test program embedded within XEMICS RISC microcontroller chip (XE88LC05) board. Ping Pong Test (Default User) automatically started after power attached board RS232 connector option been disabled from PC-GUI Software. addition RESET board will affect parameters default Ping Pong demo.

USER PING-PONG TEST
4.5.1 Purpose User Ping Pong Test allows user achieve Ping Pong Test with their settings. User configuration will saved EEPROM, will lost after RESET function. This mode allows user modify parameters XE1205 (Frequency deviation, Local Oscillator Pattern, etc). only restriction data rate, which must lower than 38.4kbps Ping-Pong Test.
4.5.2 User Ping-Pong Test Enabling modify Ping-Pong settings, user needs click XE1205 Eval button before starting parameter modifications. next step send configuration microcontroller clicking Send Config save this configuration into memory (EEPROM), user needs click Save Config button. RESET operation will erase user parameters. start User Ping Pong test, user needs click User Ping-Pong button PC-GUI interface before disconnecting RS232 cable from board. three predefined frequencies (f1, also been modified clicking Ping Pong tool menu 4.5.3 Read Back Configuration XE1205SK allows user read back latest configuration saved EEPROM. display registers contents, user needs click XE1205 Eval have access control buttons. Click Load Configuration load latest configuration into XE1205 transceiver followed Config Graphic Interface will then display latest configuration which been saved into memory.
STAND ALONE EVALUATION
4.6.1 Purpose This operating mode allows user disable Ping-Pong Test. this condition, user will able apply external data Data apply data received Data out, Clock pattern. XE1205 configuration will graphic interface.
4.6.2 Stand Alone Evaluation enabling feature have access this mode user needs click XE1205 Eval button placed interface. When bits have been correctly, configuration will microcontroller clicking Send Config saved EEPROM clicking Save Config user then disconnect board from RS232 cable. Revision

4.6.3 Read back configuration User Ping Pong function, XE1205SK allows user read back latest configuration saved EEPROM. display registers contains user needs click XE1205 Eval have access control buttons. Click Load Configuration load latest configuration into XE1205 transceiver followed Config Graphic Interface will display latest configuration which been saved into memory.

COMMON PROBLEMS
Communication cannot established with XE1205SK
Check serial port Verify that XE1205SK connected selected serial port. default COM1 selected. RS232 connected another port, click select right port menu tool bar. selected port displayed bottom-right corner screen. Check power supply Verify that XE1205SK powered (the power indicator Verify that XM1205 well powered. XM1205 battery operated, jumper must placed module (default configuration) Verify that voltage battery external source between 2.4V 3.6V.

With Starter follows these steps: Connect starter launch XE1205SK.exe Menu click Predefined>General>Enable Buffered mode Operating Modes window click Transmitter. This operation will enable data generator. Menu click FIFO Handler>Transmitter FIFO Handler FIFO Handler window, click reset obtain bytes loaded with 0xAA (preamble) after Repeat Value zero continuous mode. Click Start. Connect second starter window State, click XE1205 Eval Operating Modes window click Receiver. Click button automatically calibrate Receiver local oscillator Menu click Predefined>General>Enable FEI, XE1205SK Control window click Read Check value around zero Menu click Predefined>General>Enable Buffered mode. This operation will enable Receiver FIFO Receiver FIFO window, validate FIFO full option 16bytes limit. content FIFO displays what transmitter sends (0xAA).
