Introduction
Connectivity Business-Critical Continuity
Description
attributes connector interface high frequency blind-mate applications. design bullet/shroud system allows both axial radial misalignment. basic system comprised inner "bullet" adapter, outer receptacles called "shrouds". bullet provides flexible link between shroud connections. blind-mate applications, shroud connector will typically specified snap-on interface other slide-on. This ensures that bullet adapter remains fixed same shroud connector when connection disengaged. snap-on interfaces (Full Limited Detent) each have different engage disengage coupling forces. typically selected snap-on interface mount and/or blind-mate applications, while mainly used cabled connections where higher retention forces required. slide-on interfaces (Smooth Bore Catchers Mit) allow reduced connection forces compared snap-on versions. push-on interface creates sliding connection that does physically locate mating reference planes, allowing axial radial misalignment. Both have same engage/disengage forces; however typically specified shroud configuration blind-mate applications generous lead-in chamfer helps capture guide bullet into place.
