Quick Start
T8xC5121 Starter shipped with T85C5121 T89C5121 microcontroller. demonstration board accompanying software allow read data from smartcard display host also load your application .hex file format) retrieve data from smartcard credit card.
Connecting Microcontroller
T8xC5121 Demonstration Board designed support different microcontrollers, T85C5121 T89C5121. microcontrollers connected either bottom board, respectively. T89C5121 requires SSOP24 Adapter which must plugged into support. Alternatively, T89C5121 soldered board.

Hardware Connection

Reset

INT1 Switch
INT1 configuration switch (SW6 switch) selects whether INT1 push button connected port P3.3 microcontroller. Figure 3-1.
Serial Port
Board supports MAX232 (See Figure 3-1) convert RS-232 voltage levels. serial P3.0/RXD, P3.1/TXD disconnected using JP5, jumpers.
LEDs

Smart Card Interface

Programming from External EEPROM Source

Programming Using FLIP
This section allows program microcontroller through RS-232 cable using FLIP software. FLIP. From Device Menu, choose Select select device (T8xC5121) that connected your demonstration board.

Software Description
Click `Set Communication' button indicate port settings Baud Rate. autobaud feature boot loader will configure device according baud rate.
Device Selection Communication
Initialize communication selecting "Connect" button RS232 pop-up window. Reset demonstration board (SW2 push button) Figure 3-1. "Rs232 Communication Synchronized" message displayed bottom FLIP status window. Load file. This program that performs demonstration data exchange. File menu select Load choose demonstration program `exchange.hex' file: message `HEX file exchange.hex loading done' displayed bottom FLIP window. 5.2.1
Running Demonstration Program
Running Quickterm Software Quickterm. Software located file: Execute `quickterm-1_0_7.exe' file. Quickterm File Menu, select "Read TRM." command locate "whiteshark.trm" file. Turn demonstration board. Note: Help available menu used clear display. T89C5121 version, after Reset, LED0 during download program from EEPROM Code seconds 14.7456 MHz). When this sequence achieved, program automatically executed LED0 blinks again while waiting card. message "Insert card" displayed Quickterm window.
