This RS-232 RS-422 converter converts unbalanced RS-232 signals balanced RS-422 signals. RS-422 Standard uses balanced voltage digital interface allow communications bits second cable lengths 4000 feet. receivers connected driver multi-drop systems. Protective Ground Signal Ground should connected through each system connected each other using 1/2-watt resistor only. shielded twisted pair used, shield should connected Protective Ground.
