DESCRIPTION
Interpoint's accessory Thermal Mounting Pads (TMP) provide simple effective method ensuring thermal resistance path between DC/DC converter mounting plane. When placed between converter circuit board heat sink, will provide electrical isolation, fill small surface irregularities, produce 0.20° in2/W (129°C mm2/W) thermal resistance path.
MOUNTING
maximum thermal conduction from converter through thermal thermal plane, mounting pressure 300-600 lbs/in2 recommended. achieve this level mounting pressure, Interpoint recommends using flanged models. formula calculate recommended pressure P=(T*N)/(0.2*D*A); where P=pressure PSI, T=torque, N=number fasteners, D=fastener diameter inches), A=contact surface area square inches).
MATERIAL
Thermal Mounting Pads, made silicon rubber fiberglass, thermally stable non-flammable. They non-toxic, require grease exhibit cracking problems ceramic materials. pads temporarily react some cleaning agents (notably chlorinated hydrocarbons) swelling, damaged after solvent removed. They will tolerate soldering process temperatures.
