shows characteristic 31002A tone ringer. Curve plot with RSL<6.8K shows increase current drawn initiation voltage Vsi. characteristic after initiation remains unchanged. Curve illustrates effect increasing above 6.8K initiation current decreases again current alter triggering unchanged.
application circuit illustrates 31002A device typical telephone tone ringer application. ringer signal voltage appears across RING inputs circuit attenuated capacitor resistor also provides isolation from voltage (48V) exchanged line. After full wave rectification bridge diode, wave form filtered capacitor provide supply tone ringer chip. this voltage exceeds initiation voltage (Vsi), oscillation starts. With components shown output frequency chops between 512Hz (FH1) Hz(FH2) Hz(FL) rate. loudspeaker load coupled through 1300 transformer. output coupling capacitor required with transformer coupled loads. When driving pizeo-ceramic transducer type load, coupling transformer (1300:8) required. However, current limiting resistor required. frequency oscillator oscillates rate (FL) controlled external resistor (R2) capacitor (C2). fequency determined using relation FL=1/1.289 high frequency oscillates FH1,FH2 controlled external resistor (R3) capacitor (C3). frequency determined using relation FH1=1/1.504 R3*C3 FH2= 1/1.203 R3*C3. 31002A allows connection external resistor RSL, which used program slope supply current supply voltage characteristics (see Fig.3), hence supply current initiation voltage (Vsi). This initiation voltage remains constant independent RSL. supply current drawn prior triggering varies inversely with RSL, decreasing increasing value resistance. Thus, increasing value RSL, will decrease amount ringing current required trigger device. such, longer sucribser loops possible since less voltage dropped unit length loop wire lower current level. also used compensated smaller coupling capacitors Fig.4) (higher impedance) line which used alter ringer equivalence number tone ringer circuit. graph Fig.3 illustrates variation supply current with supply voltage 31002A. Three curves drawn show variation initiation current with RSL. Curve RSL=6.8K)
