This device provides protection 40kV Watt peak pulse power dissipation 8/20 pulse line. ideal protecting multimode transceiver lines data communications applications such USB. This capacitance device allows these types applications operate safely without significant signal distortion. When transient voltage strikes data line, device becomes impedance path diverting transient current ground. devices capable clamping both positive negative transient voltages enough level such that sensitive component will damaged. shown Figure typical RS-485 transceiver application, protects four bidirectional lines where normal signal voltage both positive negative. Each pair symmetrical that each pair connected both data lines ground. order insure crosstalk isolation, each line/ground pair electrically independent each other. Pins connected ground.
