INTRODUCTION UT54LVDS032LVT with internal Integrated Termination Resistor Quad Receiver quad CMOS differential line receiver designed applications requiring ultra power dissipation high data rates. device designed support data rates excess 400.0 Mbps (200 MHz) utilizing Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) technology. UT54LVDS032LVT accepts voltage (340mV) differential input signals translates them output levels. receiver supports three-state function that used multiplex outputs. receiver also supports OPEN, shorted terminated (100 input fail-safe. Receiver output will HIGH fail-safe conditions. pins have Cold Spare buffers. These buffers will high impedance when tied VSS. integrated termination resistor will reduce component count save board space.

APPLICATIONS INFORMATION UT54LVDS032LVT receiver's intended primarily uncomplicated point-to-point configuration shown Figure This configuration provides clean signaling environment quick edge rates drivers. receiver connected driver through balanced media which standard twisted pair cable, parallel pair cable, simply traces. Typically, characteristic impedance media range 100. integrated termination resistor used match media. termination resistor converts current sourced driver into voltages that detected receiver. Other configurations possible such multi-receiver configuration, effects mid-stream connector(s), cable stub(s), other impedance discontinuities, well ground shifting, noise margin limits, total termination loading must taken into account.

Receiver Fail-Safe

Open Input Pins. Terminated Input. driver disconnected (cable unplugged), driver three-state power-off condition, receiver output will again HIGH state, even with cable integrated termination resistor across input pins. unplugged cable become floating antenna which pick noise. cable picks more than 10mV differential noise, receiver noise valid signal switch. insure that noise seen common-mode differential, balanced interconnect should used. Twisted pair cable offers better balance than flat ribbon cable. Shorted Inputs. fault condition occurs that shorts receiver inputs together, thus resulting differential input voltage, receiver output remains HIGH state. Shorted input fail-safe supported across common-mode range device (VSS 2.4V). only supported with inputs shorted external common-mode voltage applied.
