DESCRIPTION
HR40 SeriesDC/DC converters offer high efficiencies associated with switching regulators, have full isolation input output grounds. units built using thick-film hybrid technology sealed metal packages high-reliability applications. models guaranteed pass gross leak test (maximum leak rate 10-3 atm-cc/sec). HR40 Series devices flyback energy storage switching regulators which require minimum components resulting small package size. Single dual models self-oscillate operating frequency which approximate inverse function load. full load, frequency typically single dual output models. Triple output models operate fixed frequency approximately kHz. transformer forward power circuit opto-coupler feedback/control loop maintain input output isolation. Models available with single volt, dual volt, triple either ±15) outputs with input voltage range VDC. Output power watts available from dual output models either balanced unbalanced loads; however, least total load should positive output. single output device provide watts, triple output supply watts. high efficiency almost constant over entire input voltage range from approximately full load full load. This makes unit ideal battery applications. open collector inhibit provided allow power shutdown startup from logic input. open circuit inhibit terminal (pin gives normal operation, level shuts down converter. inhibit open circuit voltage Input current shutdown mode will less than Current limiting provided each output indefinite short circuit protection. high efficiency, heat sinking requirements minimized, consideration should given removing self-generated heat when operating these devices maximum ratings. increase dissipation, heat conducting material (PCB, copper sheet, heat sink, etc.) should brought into contact with converter's baseplate. converter operated full load case temperature 85°C, with output power derated linearly zero 105°C.

External capacitors required outputs. Operating unit without external capacitors will result damage internal circuitry. Minimum recommended capacitor values given Tables optimum performance, (Equivalent Series Resistance) solid tantalum capacitors required. specifications following pages based highquality solid tantalums. Operation with different types capacitors will seriously affect performance.
