DESCRIPTION
With miniature footprint just square inches, Seriesof DC/DC converters delivers watts output power while saving significant board real estate. wide input voltage range accepts varying voltages military, aerospace, space power tightly regulates output voltages protect downstream components. Transient protection volts milliseconds exceeds requirements MIL-STD-704A 3.3, 5.2, volt single models volt dual model. volt single dual converters will withstand transients volts milliseconds.
INHIBIT FUNCTION
When open collector logic applied inhibit terminal, converter shuts down lowers output voltage near zero input current Leaving terminal open applying open collector logic high will enable converter.
PROTECTION Undervoltage lockout prevents Series converters from operating below approximately input voltage keep system current levels smooth, especially during initialization re-start operations. models include soft-start function prevent large current draw minimize overshoot. converters also provide short circuit protection restricting current.
CONVERTER DESIGN
Series DC/DC converters incorporate continuous flyback topology with constant switching frequency approximately kHz. Current-mode pulse width modulation (PWM) provides output voltage regulation. Output error voltage magnetically back input side regulate output voltage. Regulation also affected load; refer Electrical Characteristics tables following pages. Dual models regulate negative output with magnetic coupling positive output. load output providing that other output carries minimum total load. dual models used double output voltage connecting load between positive negative outputs, leaving common unconnected. (ex: MCH2805D used output.)
