EZ158X family high performance positive voltage regulators designed applications requiring very dropout voltage amps. Capable supplying 2.8V boards where both 3.3V supplies available, superior dropout characteristics EZ158X result reduced heat dissipation compared regular LDOs. POWER MANAGEMENT Applications Information
EZ158X dropout regulator designed power voltage microcontrollers, graphics ICs, sound cards etc. dropout voltage minimized utilizing separate input voltage, VCTL, which should exceed VOUT least 1.3V. 2.5V (for example) power load derived from 3.3V system supply. Since efficiency linear regulator ratio output input voltage, heat dissipation reduced using 3.3V input (versus one), thereby lowering heatsink cooling costs. lower current applications, heatsink might eliminated altogether. load 2.5V, regulator would dissipate 17.5W when converting from only 5.6W from 3.3V input. Remote Kelvin sensing output voltage achieved connecting sense output load. Remote sensing will reduce errors associated with resistive trace losses between regulator processor.
