APPLICATIONS INFORMATION
Thermal Shutdown Protection LTC1324 includes thermal shutdown circuit which protects against prolonged shorts driver outputs. driver output shorted another output, ground power supply, current will initially limited maximum 250mA. When temperature rises above 150°C, thermal shutdown circuit turns driver outputs. When cools about 130°C, outputs turn short still exists, part will heat again cycle will repeat. This oscillation occurs about 10Hz prevents part from being damaged excessive power dissipation. When short removed, part will return normal operation. Power Shutdown power shutdown feature LTC1324 designed battery-powered systems. When SHDN forced high, part enters shutdown mode. shutdown, supply current typically drops from driver receiver outputs three-stated. Supply Bypassing LTC1324 requires bypassed prevent data errors. capacitor from ground adequate.
