About This Manual
These release notes version 1.0.6 debugger, which named "ST7 Visual Debug", abbreviated "STVD7". This debugger replaces debugger known WGDB7. offers minimum same level functionality.

Supported Architectures
System Requirements: compatibles running with Windows Windows Windows Operating Systems.
Minimum Hardware Requirements
This version supports Simulator (STVD7-SIM), some HDS2 Emulators with active probe (STVD7-HDS) first second generations Development (STVD7-DVP). Note: possible "ST7 configuration files" diskette provided with emulator configure STVD7-HDS. configuration procedure will provided soon order allow STVD7 support some existing emulators Development Kits.
General Issues
order Cosmic toolchain with STVD7, "cvdwarf.exe" Cosmic convertor needed generate ".elf" debug information files required STVD7. available Cosmic 4.1j version. However, download this convertor (cvdwarf.zip) from http://www.cosmic-software.com.

Platform-Specific Information Relating Installation
start installation setup Visual Debug, follow these steps: Insert CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. CD-ROM's autorun feature will open welcome screen your autorun feature does work, Windows Explorer browse CD-ROM's root folder, double-click Welcome.exe. Select "Install Your Development Tools" Choose Tools Toolchain from next screen. install wizard will lauched. Follow instructions that appears screen. Note: Installing STVD7-HDS STVD7-DVP Windows machine will trigger installation Driver "SParallel Driver" been installed. this case, administrator rights required.

3.1.1 Basic
Basic (Integrated Development Editor) allows user perform tasks embedded software development (i.e. edit, build, debug) without leaving STVD7. This STVD7 longer just stand-alone debugger, lets work cyclic way: begin build, then stop build, start debugging, stop debugging, then rebuild. repeat these steps until your code built correctly. define your workspace then work your project customized environment. part this environment, there number modified windows. Warning: Interactive Command Batch file cancels build session.

Known Problems this Release
Trace Window: trace cannot reached with Scroll bar. time indication available Trace Window Build/Rebuild: Under Windows batch file (.bat) build rebuld your application, result STVD7 output window will "Build succeeded", even there errors your application. errors have actually occurred, have scroll output window error notification(s). Under extension file .cnf linked default certain dialer software application. this case extension ".cnf" removed Visual Debug unable retrieve needed configuration files. solve this, please disassociate extension ".cnf" dialer software application using Windows Explorer. Save Layout Restore Layout Memory View work Data Breakpoints: Counter Condition values ignored.
Problems Fixed this Release
Simulator device configuration coherent with Emulators DVPs Error messages fully displayed.
Limitation
With target Emulators, Data Breakpoint could specified general access type (i.e. Read Write access).
