TMC22061P7C encoder demonstration board converts 8-bit parallel digital component video, (CCIR Rec. SMPTE 125, a.k.a. "601") into analog composite video using TMC22091 digital video encoder. board supports multiple standards, operating PAL, PAL-M, NTSC, NTSC-EIA (zero setup) television formats. crystal oscillator provided cases where CCIR-601 source available. When operated from on-board oscillator, only internally generated color bars modulated ramp produced. PRODUCT SPECIFICATION
board accepts 8-bit parallel digital component video, (CCIR Rec. SMPTE 125, a.k.a. "601") standard connector differential format, translates data format, strips Timing Reference Signal from datastream generate Sync, passes digital video stream Encoder 16-bit 13.5 format. simple EPROM-based programmer provided, which downloads selected configuration (one Encoder when reset button pressed. This EPROM holds both control register data Color-Look-Up-Table (CLUT) patterns blocks. Sixteen pages selected rotary switch, additional switches provided selecting among four banks. crystal oscillator provided cases where CCIR-601 source available. When operated from on-board oscillator, only internally generated color bars modulated ramp produced. board operates from standard supplies. When used stand-alone mode, only required.
Software Reset
software reset occurs whenever pushbutton switch, depressed. software reset latched through ensure known relationship between internal pixel clock TMC22091 externally generated LDV, PDC, VHSYNC\, VVSYNC\ signals. When depressed internal state machines TMC22091 reset outputs disabled. When released program counter started beginning next vertical blanking period. Software Reset required after power-up after each functional change.
Programming TMC22091

CCIR-601 Interface
CCIR-601 data stream terminated into differential ECL-to-TTL converters. translated data latched through rate then passed demultiplexer. This data goes directly into TMC22091, which separates data stream into color difference signals interpolates them same sample rate data. Horizontal Vertical Timing

Power Supply Requirements
TMC22061P7C board requires 1.25 Amps from Volt power supply 0.25 Amps from Volt power supply. Volt power supply powers logic devices which have relatively good noise immunity. Volt power supply only drives logic devices also provides power TMC22091. Therefore, recommended that bench power supply used with cable lengths kept minimum. When operating stand-alone mode, only Volt supply required.
