USING EVALUATION BOARD
Hardware Set-Up Instructions user should make following connections operate evaluation board standard mode: Connect output OUT) spectrum analyzer, Connect reference input within range port, Connect interface cable parallel port header evaluation board, connect power supply input (2.3 -5.5 depending your application). TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
Using magnification, visually inspect board cold solder joints, broken, misplaced partially soldered components, solder bridges. These items common causes partially nonworking boards. Verify that correct voltage levels Vcc, actually getting places they need (i.e. measure voltage pins, edges board). Also verify that Jumpers properly number power supplies being used (i.e. only supply being used, both power supply jumpers should place). Verify that OSCin getting proper XTAL frequency that OSCout amplified version Both OSCin OSCout should have offset. Verify that series getting proper programming signals putting software "switch" mode probing CLOCK, DATA, pins with oscilloscope. Also verify that programming signals appropriate level your application (i.e. your application one, make sure that volt signals from being resistivly divided that they don't overdrive inputs.) Verify proper values frequency, Reference frequency, crystal frequency evaluation software. Computer monitors other equipment have been shown cause noise spikes. noise spikes signal turning monitor other equipment verify that they cause. Also noise getting onto signal through cable that connects parallel port computer.
