General Description
DS36C279 power differential bus/line transceiver designed meet requirements RS-485 Standard multipoint data transmission. addition compatible with TIA/EIA-422-B. sleep mode feature automatically puts device power saving mode when both driver receiver disabled. device ideal power conscious applications where device disabled extended periods time. driver receiver outputs feature TRI-STATE capability. driver outputs operate over entire common mode range +12V. contention fault situations that cause excessive power dissipation within device handled thermal shutdown circuit, which forces driver outputs into high impedance state. receiver incorporates fail safe circuit which guarantees high output state when inputs left open. DS36C279T fully specified over industrial temperature range (-40°C +85°C).

Sleep Mode
DS36C279 features automatic shutdown mode that allows device save power when transmitting data. Since shutdown mode automatic, external components required. used little much application requires. more feature utilized, more power saves. sleep mode automatically entered when both driver receiver disabled. This occurs when both asserted logic asserted logic high. Once both pins asserted device will enter sleep mode typically DS36C279 guaranteed into sleep mode within after both pins asserted. device wakes (comes sleep mode) when either asserted logic high and/or asserted logic low. After device enters sleep mode will take longer device wake than does device enable from TRI-STATE. Refer datasheet specifications tPSL tPSH compare with tPZL tPZH timing differences. benefit DS36C279 definitely power savings. When active device maximum When sleep mode device maximum only which times less power than when active. when device active already very when sleep mode ultra low.
