Lattice Semiconductor high-density parts have advanced feature that allows program reprogram parts system without removing them. This feature eliminates using sockets these devices, which avoids common reliability problems associated with sockets. Select File Save from Daisy Chain Download menu (Figure 3-12). click Save icon Daisy Chain Download tool bar. standard Save window appears (Figure 3-13). Type name your design file File Name field. must have .dld extension. enter more than eight characters, file name truncated. full name file recognized against truncated file name truncated file name overwrites itself each time perform save. Choose directory file type. Click f_name.dld appears main window. file name already exists, warning overwrite file appears (Figure 3-14). Click overwrite existing file. Click return Save window save file with name. Click Cancel close Save window. configuration setup saved.

Changing Port
When launch Daisy Chain Download software with cables properly connected, identifies first port detects. This menu allows change port setup accommodate your porting needs.
change port setup:
Select Configuration Port Assignment (Figure 3-22). Port Assignment window appears (Figure 3-23).

Exiting Program
quit Daisy Chain Download software:
Select File Exit from Daisy Chain Download menu (Figure 3-26). Save Configuration Setup windows appears (Figure 3-27), have previously saved this file. Click save changes exit Daisy Chain Download program. Click exit without saving changes. changes saved file that open application closes. created configuration name standard Save window appears (Figure 3-28). Fill fields click exit Daisy Chain Download software.

Creating .DLD File
text editor generate .dld file device programming. section "Programming Single Device" page .dld file must contain device type, programming function each device, full path JEDEC file. Figure 3-31 shows .dld file download five devices.

When activate scanning feature, prompt enter device file name displays (Figure 3-33). Select Scan Board Configuration. Press Enter. Enter file save press Enter. choose Enter without typing name, Scan Board Configuration cancels.
