General Description
Honeywell HMC2003 high sensitivity, threeaxis magnetic sensor hybrid assembly used measure magnetic field strengths. Honeywell's most sensitive magneto-resistive sensors (HMC1001 HMC1002) utilized provide reliability precision this magnetometer design. HMC2003 interface analog with critical nodes brought interfaces maximum user flexibility. internal excitation current source selected gain offset resistors, reduces temperature errors plus gain offset drift. Three precision low-noise instrumentation amplifiers with 1kHz pass filters provide accurate measurements while rejecting unwanted noise.

General Description
Honeywell's three axis magnetic sensor hybrid uses three permalloy magneto-resistive sensors custom interface electronics measure strength direction incident magnetic field. These sensors sensitive magnetic fields along length, width, height axis) 20-pin dual-in-line hybrid. Fields detected less than microgauss gauss. Analog outputs available each axis from hybrid. With sensitivity linearity this hybrid, changes detected earth's magnetic field provide compass headings attitude sensing. high bandwidth this hybrid allows anomaly detection vehicles, planes, other ferrous objects high speeds. hybrid packaged small printed circuit board 0.75") on-chip +2.5 voltage reference that operates from single supply. hybrid ideal applications that require two- three-axis magnetic sensing have size constraints need magnetic transducer (magnetometer) front-end. Note that hybrid's resistor values will vary, abscense some resistor components, likely individual factory calibration. Integrated with sensor elements composed wheatstone bridge circuits, magnetically coupled straps that replace need external field coils provide various modes operation. Honeywell patented integrated field offset straps (Xoff+ Xoff-, etc.) used electrically apply local magnetic fields bridges buck, offset applied incident field. This technique used cancel unwanted ambient magnetic fields (e.g. hardiron magnetism) closed loop field nulling measurement circuit. offset straps nominally provide gauss fields along sensitive axis 48mA offset current through each strap. HMC2003's magnetic sensors affected high momentary magnetic fields that lead output signal degradation. order eliminate this effect, maximize signal output, magnetic switching technique applied bridge using set/reset pins (SR+ SR-) that eliminates effect past magnetic history.
