SWITCHStAR Devices
following brief introduction SWITCHStAR Networking Products utilized this Remote DSLAM design. IDT77V400 Switching Memory Switch Fabric device through which cells stored switched. Acell memory capacity on-chip, provides ports 155Mbps (1.24Gbps aggregate bandwidth), uses Data Path Interface (DPI) provide port configurability flexibility. IDT77V500 Switch Controller Controller which provides traffic management direction through switch communication with Switching Memory. Provides Queuing, four service classes output, congestion management features, support active with on-chip memory, packetizing mode packet based protocols. IDT77V550 Switch Manager Executes configuration setting calls Table IDT77V500 inband control cells sent IDT77V400. IDT77V012 DPI-to-UTOPIA Conversion with Header Translation Accounting Provides coversion 155Mbps DPI-4 interface UTOPIA Level along with ability translate 32-bit VPI/VCI field 13bit index utilized IDT77V500. Accounting functionality basis also provided, IDT77V012 uses external SRAM (such IDT71V633) lookups.

Remote DSLAM Example with SWITCHStAR
Figure illustrates typical Remote DSLAM design utilizing SWITCHStAR components. left side Figure represents Network side DSLAM, where addressing requirements must satisfied handled. left could handling number traffic types rates, such STM-1 OC-3 ATM. IDT77V012 input path maps full 32-bit VPI/VCI address into 13-bit index used IDT77V500 deep table, well performing conversion from UTOPIA Level DPI. IDT77V500 will then store, queue, direct traffic through IDT77V400 determined AHeader information. Upon transmission Acell from Switching Memory, IDT77V011 right side Figure (the User side DSLAM) will perform DPI-to-UTOPIA conversion. This allows DSLAM utilize multiPHY capability UTOPIA interface, directing Acell potentially individual PHYs IDT77V400 physical port. This provides over potential DSLAM User ports single SWITCHStAR pair. PHYs need only have UTOPIA interface capability utilize this feature, range type from ADSL ATM.
