Wake-up from Power Save Executes Instructions before Interrupt When waking from power save, some instructions executed before interrupt called. device woken external interrupt, instruction cycles executed. woken asynchronous timer, instructions executed before interrupt. Problem Fix/Workaround Make sure that first three instructions following sleep dependent executed interrupt. Send Wrong Byte Master mode, will restart transfer data written same clock edge previous transfer finished. Problem Fix/Workaround When writing SPI, first wait until ready, then write byte transmit. Wrong Clearing EXTRF MCUSR EXTRF flag MCUSR will cleared when clearing PORF-flag. flag does cleared writing Problem Fix/Workaround
8-bit Microcontroller with 128K Bytes In-System Programmable Flash ATmega103L Rev. Errata Sheet
Finish test both flags before clearing them. Clear both flags simultaneously writing both PORF EXTRF MCUCR.
Reset during EEPROM Write reset activated during EEPROM write, result what should expected. EEPROM write cycle completes normal, address registers reset result that both address written address EEPROM corrupted. Problem Fix/Workaround Avoid using address storage, unless guarantee that will reset during EEPROM write.
Rev. 1197D-12/99
Interrupt Flag Undefined after Reset certain cases when there transitions during reset, left unconnected, start-up value interrupt flag unknown. flag reset before enabling interrupt, pending interrupt executed. Problem Fix/Workaround Clear interrupt flag before enabling interrupt. Serial Programming Voltages below 3.4V voltages below 3.4V, serial programming might fail. Problem Fix/Workaround Keep above 3.4V during In-System Programming. Skip Instruction with Interrupts skip instruction (SBRS, SBRC, SBIS, SBIC, CPSE) that skips two-word instruction needs three clock cycles. interrupt occurs during first second clock cycle this skip instruction, return address will stored correctly stack. this situation, address second word two-word instruction stored. This means that return from interrupt, second word two-word command will decoded executed instruction. ATmega103L four two-word instructions: LDS, STS, CALL.
Notes: This only occur following conditions true: skip instruction followed two-word instruction. skip instruction actually skipping two-word instruction. Interrupts enabled, least interrupt source generate interrupt. interrupt arrives first second cycle skip instruction. This will only cause problems address following command points address beyond Hex.
Signature Bytes signature bytes first lots ATmega103L have been shipped with wrong signature bytes. Also datasheet, wrong signature bytes been given. correct signature bytes are: $01. Problem Fix/Workaround Programmers must allow both valid signature bytes. Read Back Value during EEPROM Polling When EEPROM byte being programmed into EEPROM with In-System Programming, reading address location being programmed will give value (see table until Auto-erase finished. Then value will follow until programming finished. time device ready EEPROM byte, programmed value will read correctly. Table Address Location
Revision Note:
This only problem In-System Programmers. Reading writing EEPROM during normal operation affected this.
Problem Fix/Workaround Programmers must allow both read back values data polling used EEPROM. Polling will work either values when programming these values, user will have wait prescribed time tWD_EEPROM before programming next byte. MISO Active during In-System Programming During In-System Programming, MISO line (pin ATmega103L active, although UART pins used programming. used input application, collision occur this line. Problem Fix/Workaround MISO used input, make sure that there current-limiting resistor series with line. used output, make sure that whatever connected line accept that toggling during programming.
Problem Fix/Workaround C-programs, compiler version 1.40b later. compiler will never generate sequence. assembly program, avoid skipping two-word instruction interrupts enabled.

Free-running Mode described Free-running Mode. This mode available this device, number ADCSR register must always written "0". Problem Fix/Workaround Single-conversion Mode always latest revision datasheet. UART Loses Synchronization Line when UART Receive Disabled UART will detect UART start start reception even UART enabled. this occurs, first byte after re-enabling UART will corrupted. Problem Fix/Workaround Make sure that line high start-up when UART disabled. external RS232-level converter keeps line high during start-up.
