AT90SC series low-power, high-performance, 8-bit secure microcontroller with Flash program memory EEPROM user memory. devices manufactured using Atmel's high-density CMOS nonvolatile memory process. FLASH Program Memory 16-bit Cryptoprocessor: SC16 Some versions AT90SC product family contain cryptoprocessor. This crypto engine 16-bit RISC processor which runs parallel with dedicated perform fast encryption authentication functions. internal multiplier provides 32-bit result within cycle. dedicated stores program code which contains crypto library (RSA, DSA, addition, algorithms easily implemented upon request. Shared Workspace cryptoprocessor share memory follows. When cryptoprocessor inactive, accesses entire RAM. When cryptoprocessor active, accesses only part while works with remaining portion. requires more RAM, makes crypto engine save workspace small portion stop. Security Features Many advanced security features available: voltage/frequency control, secure layout, encryptor, etc. Nonvolatile memory program data content visible chip layout patterns. 7816 Port Operational Modes AT90SC features operational modes: supervisor mode with privileged access data, active when code executed from supervisor area. user mode with data access restrictions, active when code executed from EEPROM user memory. 7816 controlled CPU. level detected this generates interrupt. Interrupt Controller AT90SC total interrupt vectors: security, pin, timer, EEPROM write cycle cryptoprocessor interrupt. Each these interrupt sources individually enabled disabled. register contains global disable which disables interrupts once. priority level programmed Interrupt Priority register. second priority level given vector number. Idle Mode During Idle mode, disabled while on-chip peripherals (I/O registers, timer, serial port interrupt system) remain active. Power-down Mode During power-down mode, clock frozen. on-chip registers retain their values until power-down mode terminated. Exit from power down initiated either hardware reset enabled external interrupt.
Features: 128-byte page size, minimum endurance 10,000 write/erase cycles, minimum data retention years, selftimed memory. Flash memory read-only except during secure program download mode. Once Flash loaded, security feature disables download mode making impossible write Flash.
EEPROM Data/Program Memory
Features: byte-by-byte page-by-page (128 bytes), minimum endurance 100,000 write/erase cycles, minimum data retention years, 64-byte one-time-programmable security zone, self-timed memory.
8-bit RISC Microcontroller CPU: AVR® proprietary low-power, high-performance RISC microcontroller CPU. Harvard architecture includes generalpurpose working registers directly connected ALU. This allows independent registers accessed single instruction executed clock cycle. Although supports extremely dense assembler code programs, optimized language. remarkably rich instruction contains less than powerful 16-bit instructions.
user mode, direct read write access registers EEPROM allowed. Furthermore, programmable zone reserved supervisor mode. attempt access I/O, EEPROM reserved area generates maskable interrupt. jump supervisor zone user mode generates non-maskable security interrupt. AT90SC provides supervisor call instruction branch defined vector address supervisor zone. This powerful hardware solution specially designed ensure full separation between applications. provides secure protection against program dumping secure data access control.
