General
General
This chapter describes structure application project operator terminal. There also explanation general principles, object parameters, joint functions applicable operator terminal.
Method pcreating project
graphical structure application operator terminal constitutes wellarranged monitoring tool operator. important organize application well consider which functions necessary. Start with overall view, then work down detailed level. application built blocks, graphic blocks and/or text blocks. Values from controller shown changed blocks. Each function becomes more blocks, depending complex function project contain both graphic text blocks, each block contain static dynamic objects. blocks should arranged hierarchies achieve structured application, simplify work procedures machine operator. application also organized sequence controls. possible test complete application, parts before downloaded operator terminal.
Beijer Electronics, MA00749
General
Blocks
Each block number between allocated developer. blocks 990-999 reserved special purposes, so-called system blocks. operator terminal object-orientated, which means that block contain signals linked object control monitoring example, pump. Block properties, such block number type block, defined each block. functions Alarms, Time channels, System Monitor, E-mail Contrast Properties also invoked blocks. These designated system blocks. Text blocks used report printouts e-mail, cannot displayed operator. maximum number blocks project 990.
Note: block type cannot changed defined block.

Signal format
following signal formats available dialog each object, assumption that selected driver supports signal format.
Format type Signed 16-bit Unsigned 16-bit Signed 32-bit Unsigned 32-bit Float with exponent, 32-bit Float without exponent, 32-bit Float 16-bit 32-bit 16-bit 32-bit Seconds 16-bit -32,768 +32,767 +65,535 -2147483648 +2147483647 +4294967295 ±3.4E38 Numbers larger than 1,000,000 shown with exponent. E.g. positions decimals result ±999.999. 9999,9999. 9999 99999999 FFFF FFFF FFFF object Analog numeric present time format. Syntax: <hours:minutes:seconds>. Example: register value D0=3661, object Analog numeric linked defined Seconds 16bit will then show <1:01:01>. object Analog numeric present time format. Syntax: <hours:minutes:seconds>. Efficient communication
make communication between operator terminal controller quick efficient following should noted about signals read reading optimized.
Signals affecting communication time
Only signals objects current block read continuously. This also includes signals object dynamics. Signals objects other blocks read, thus number blocks does affect communication time. Besides signals objects current block, operator terminal reads following signals from controller continuously: Display signals (Block Properties) Print signals (Block Properties) registers Alarm signals Remote acknowledge signals alarms alarm groups Login signal (Passwords) Logout signal (Passwords) Registers trend curves graph registers using min/max indicators display register Buzzer register Backlight signal Cursor control block Recipe control block Library index register Index Registers Controller clock register controller clock used operator terminal List erase signal (Alarm Properties) protocol control register protocol signal Signals affecting communication time following signals affect communication time: Signals linked function keys Time channels Objects alarm messages
Beijer Electronics, MA00749
General
make communication more efficient
Group controller signals consecutively Signals from controller read most rapidly signals list above consecutive. example, signals defined, quickest read these link them, example, M0.0-M11.7. signals spread (e.g. I0.4, Q30.0, M45.3 etc.) updating slower. Efficient block changes Block changes carried most rapidly efficiently through block jump function function keys through jump object. Display signals block properties should only used when controller force presentation another block. display register also used controller change block. This does affect communication much larger number Display signals. clock operator terminal extra load communication clock controller system used, since clock register must read operator terminal. Downloading clock controller also creates extra load. interval between downloads should therefore long possible. Packaging signals When signals transferred between operator terminal controller, they transferred same time. They divided into packages, each containing number signals, instead. number signals each package depends which driver used. make communication fast possible number packages minimized. Consecutive signals require minimum number packages, perhaps always possible program this way. such cases there "waste" between signals. This maximum distance between signals which still kept same package. size depends which driver used.
