Before connecting instrument insert supplied installation disk into CD-ROM drive your following menu will appear after seconds.
Click "Install EasyScope Oscilloscope Application" button launch EasyScope installation program. following screen will appear:

Select directory wish install EasyScope software into. default directory shown screen. Unless have good reason change suggest default suggested installation program. Click "Start" button commence copying files EasyScope program directory.

3.2.1
Front Panel Functions
Run/Stop Single Buttons
starting EasyScope, program idle mode displays buttons bottom toolbar with captions "Single" "Run". order display trace oscilloscope need click either "Run" "Single" buttons.
clicking "Run" "Single" buttons captured data will displayed screen providing that trigger conditions auto trigger enabled. "Run" button used continuously capture display data. When "Run" button clicked, capture display begins caption button changes "Stop". "Single" button "greyed-out" functions mutually exclusive. stop capture, click "Stop" button oscilloscope will change back into idle mode.
"Single" button captures screen's worth data then returns program idle mode. When "Single" button clicked, instrument waits trigger conditions being before updating display with single buffer data caption "Run" button changes "Stop". "Single" button "greyed-out" function currently running. instrument does trigger, returned idle mode clicking "Stop" button.
last captured data buffer will remain displayed screen long user does change oscilloscope settings. desired, screen display saved Windows Bitmap (.bmp) format file, exported comma separated values (.csv) file analysis using third party programs printed printer connected P.C. Timebase Settings
timebase settings adjusted clicking rotary switch Timebase Panel. There possible settings ranging from ns/division (fastest) ms/division (lowest). Please note, lower speed settings there will noticeable delay between clicking "Run" button trace appearing oscilloscope screen. This because sampling (conversion) rate takes more time capture buffers worth data.
button 1GHz OverSampling will become checked timebase settings 0.5ms less. timebase setting changes sampling rate oscilloscope. sampling rate displayed bottom right oscilloscope panel shown below.

Input Gain Settings
input gain adjusted clicking Volts/Div rotary switch main panel shown below.
There gain settings available. Please note that gain setting high input signal, clipping will occur. avoid clipping, select larger voltage scale. addition, settings depend oscilloscope probe used (1MW input impedance) (10MW input impedance). oscilloscope probe used then enable setting clicking button located below rotary switch. This will re-scale switch display cursor settings factor picture above, oscilloscope setup probe. panel below shows oscilloscope setup probe.

ground (0V) reference shown small arrow left hand side screen. colour arrow same trace, default which yellow.
adjust ground reference setting, drag Up/Down "GND Offset" slider main control panel. Small changes made clicking. offset changed both idle mode mode.

Trigger Settings
Basic trigger settings configured using controls main control panel.
default trigger mode edge triggering. Other trigger modes explained Trigger Menu section. Selecting "Auto" will allow scope free-run constantly collect data without waiting trigger event. Selecting "CHA" will force scope wait trigger event defined other trigger controls before display updated. Select rising falling edge event trigger selecting "+ve" (rising edge)

3.2.10.1 Overview fast Fourier transform (FFT) window accessed clicking Display button.

3.2.10.4 Zero Zero padding used artificially increase number data points included FFT. default zero padding using 1024 points obtained from data buffer. Zero padding will allow either standard buffer zero padded data sets. Increasing zero padding effect stretching frequency axis which will allow more accurate measurement with cursors. picture below shows 150KHz square wave with zero padding.

Customise Screen Colours This brings sub-menu (shown below) that allows full customisation colours, fonts backgrounds used. Colours reset original scheme selecting "Restore Default Colors".
Load Screen Colors from File color settings stored named file (*.col). Different color themes stored loaded quickly when required. black white color theme could stored used when printing oscilloscope screen images. Save Screen Colors File Customize Screen Colors menu used select display color theme which then saved file (*.col). Different colors used 'Illuminate' Illuminate modes. Trigger Menu
addition basic trigger settings available front panel, this menu (shown below) allows advanced triggering options configured.
default mode edge triggering which trigger (rising) (falling) edge using front panel controls. Pulse Selecting Pulse from this menu disables edge triggering enables pulse triggering. user must select either Negative Positive pulse from menu (see below) then provided with Advanced Trigger window (also below).
example shown negative pulse. user then select options trigger pulse length greater than less than time indicated slide bar. value slide displayed right changed clicking dragging slider. This triggering method extremely useful tool finding "glitches". following screen shot which shows triggering vertical synchronisation signal using pulse triggering feature PS40M10.

Uninstalling EasyScope
From Start Programs EasyScope PS40M10 menu Windows Toolbar, select Uninstall EasyScope PS40M10 Option click
This will start uninstaller program. following confirmation screen will appear.
sure want uninstall EasyScope Program, click "Next". not, click "Cancel" abort Uninstall process. Clicking "Next" starts uninstall sequence. When EasyScope Software first time, automatically creates file (easyscope.ini) store program settings files (DSBright.bmp DSNormal.bmp) containing images Normal Bright screen themes. safe delete these asked uninstaller. course using EasyScope user have saved some screen images should decide they want keep these not.
