Before Install
Before install MAX+PLUS® BASELINE version E+MAX software, must have BASELINE self-extracting executable file (baseline.exe) license file (license.dat). obtain software from this CD-ROM license file from Altera site http://www.altera.com. both BASELINE E+MAX software running Windows 95/98 Windows 4.0. more information about MAX+PLUS software, refer following documents:

Installing software requires following general steps:

Installing Software
install software, perform following steps (you wish print these instructions): Create directory your hard disk store installed MAX+PLUS BASELINE files your license file. example, create directory c:\baseline c:\emax. E+MAX BASELINE software same executable file. plan both E+MAX feature BASELINE feature set, must install baseline.exe into separate directories (i.e., c:\emax c:\baseline). addition, because license file controls which feature enabled, must install E+MAX license file into directory BASELINE license file into other directory.

Create license.dat file instructed your E+MAX BASELINE license file e-mail save into installation directory created. Figure shows sample license.dat file BASELINE software.

install software, double-click setup.exe top-level CD-ROM. opening page, click Install BASELINE/E+MAX. also double-click baseline.exe file located <CD-ROM Drive>:\baseline directory. MAX+PLUS installation wizard unpacked launched. Welcome page, click Next. After reading license agreement, click Yes. After reading message Information page, click Next. Enter your name company User Information page click Next. Choose items wish install Select Components page. default, BASELINE software, on-line help, readme files selected installation. Specify destination directory created Step (i.e., c:\baseline). This directory should also contain license.dat file. installation program specifies c:\maxplus2 directory default. have previous version MAX+PLUS software, Altera recommends that install BASELINE version software into another directory. click Browse button create search directory. Click save your choice. Click Next when finished.
Specify destination folder MAX+PLUS Tutorial (e.g., c:\baseline\max2work). Click Next.

Select program folder which installation program will program icons. Click Next installation will begin. When installation complete, will returned your desktop. view MAX+PLUS readme file selecting from MAX+PLUS BASELINE menu Start menu. Continue steps shown "Setting Licensing".
Setting Licensing
E+MAX BASELINE licensing, perform steps below. have MAX+PLUS software guard attached parallel port your remain attached while licensing software. However, software uses license file provided e-mail, software guard, enable available features. Choose MAX+PLUS BASELINE from Start menu start MAX+PLUS software.
